Joseph set for 1st official visit

We stopped by Long Beach Poly (Calif.) today to check out the Jackrabbits practice and also talked to a few of the teams' standout seniors. The last time we spoke with defensive back Vincent Joseph, he told us he thought he would make his college decision by now. So where is the talented corner at in the recruiting process?
When we last spoke with Joseph, he gave himself a soft timeline saying if USC had not offered by the time the team played Compton (Calif.) Dominguez (which was this past weekend), he would go ahead and commit to Oregon.

"They still haven't offered me but I'm not ready to commit yet," Joseph said. "Coach Franklin just called me today to say, 'be patient, we still like you.' It's tough though because I really don't know what they're waiting for but at the same time, I understand they have a lot of players they're looking at and USC can be very selective right now.
"I've decided to just take all my trips and then I'll make my decision later in the year. I'm going to Colorado this weekend and then Washington State next weekend. I talked to Coach Hagan at Colorado and Coach Skipper at Washington State earlier today too.
"I'm looking forward to visiting CU. They do their visits differently now, they can only be for one day and a parent has to be on the visit with you so my mom is coming with me. I'm also going to take a visit to Oregon (Nov. 5). Oregon is still my leader but like I said, I'm not in any hurry to make a decision right now."
Joseph is trying to overcome a high ankle sprain which caused him to miss the Jackrabbits last game with Dominguez, a tough 39-37 overtime loss dropping them to 2-2 on the season.
"I think I could have played but the doctors wanted me to wait another week just to be sure I was 100%," Joseph said. "It was tough watching it because I felt like I could have helped us. We have league coming up now so I'm looking forward to getting back out there and hopefully we can still have a great season."
