Jordan pulls the trigger

This morning, we put up a story on Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman defensive back Josh Jordan and mentioned how high he was on Arizona State. We mentioned there was a strong possibility of an early commitment and Jordan called a few moments ago and said that's exactly what he did.
Jordan raved about ASU on Saturday, to the point we wondered if his mind was already made up. It appears that was the case as Jordan just got off the phone with Sun Devil coach Dennis Erickson and gave him the good news.

"I just committed to Coach Erickson, I'm a Sun Devil," an excited Jordan said. "I had been talking about doing this with my parents for awhile now and this weekend, I just realized there was no need to wait any longer.
"ASU is just the best fit for me. I love the coaches, they were always honest and up front with me and they're the kind of guys I want to play for. I love the weather, it's a lot like it is here in Vegas so I'll have no problem adjusting to that.
"I've always wanted to play in the Pac 10, you can't beat that as a conference and I'm very excited to play for Coach Erickson because I've heard so much about his style of play. He likes aggressive players who really get after it and that's definitely my style of play."
As for the timing, Jordan said there was no need to wait around when he knew he wouldn't find anything better.
"When you know, you know," Jordan said. "If you find the right fit and know in your heart that's the place for you, why wait? Everyone else I was looking at was way under ASU so I just decided to get this over. I love the school and can't wait to get there in a couple of years."
