Jones with in-state offers

Christian Jones is a big time linebacker prospect from Winter Park (Fla.) Lake Howell High School. Jones, 6-4 and 220 pounds, had an impressive junior campaign, after racking up 163 tackles.
"Most teams are recruiting me as an outside linebacker or defensive end," Jones said. "I play all over the field so it really doesn't matter to me."

Teams are beginning to notice, especially the school in-state, where Jones has scholarship offers from Florida State, Miami, Florida, Central Florida, South Florida, Florida International, and Florida Atlantic.
"Miami was my first scholarship offer. That was awesome and I was really happy about that one. The coaches there are cool and so are the players.
"I just got back from an unofficial visit to Florida. We went to their basketball game and also met with some of the football coaches. I had a good talk with coach (Urban) Meyer and coach (Charlie) Strong. I like the confidence they have. I mean they really believe they will beat everyone.
"Last summer I went to camp at Florida State and really enjoyed it. I also went to their game against Virginia Tech.
"I also went to Junior Days at USF and UCF.
"Right now it looks like I will probably stay in-state although I am hearing from a bunch of schools from the ACC, Big 10 and Alabama. I would say I am just open with everyone and want to see what place is best for me."
Jones is in the middle of weight lifting and he will also play AAU basketball. This past basketball season he averaged 16 points and nine rebounds playing power forward.
