Jones set for unofficial visits

Artesia (N.M.) quarterback Landry Jones is on the short list in the discussion of who is the top signal caller in the 2008 class out West. Jones is expected to make an early decision but still has a few more unofficial visits on his docket before pulling the trigger.
Jones, 6-5, 205 pounds had a monster junior season leading Artesia to a perfect 13-0 record and a state title. He threw for 3,432 yards and 45 touchdowns while rushing for 294 yards and nine more scores.

On film, Jones shows off a strong, accurate arm and throws a great deep ball. For his size, he also has very good mobility and has no problem moving around in the pocket to bind time or taking off and making plays with his legs.
On the recruiting front, Jones plans to make an early decision, possibly as early as March and has several trips he's planning to take.
"I'm going to UCLA February 3 and I'm also planning on going to Oklahoma, Miami and Wisconsin," Jones said. "UCLA and Wisconsin are coming by later this month to watch one of my basketball games I think and Oklahoma said they are planning to come by before the season is over as well.
"Colorado, Stanford and Wisconsin have already been by but they're all coming back again. Right now, I don't have a leader. I like all of those schools and will hope to make my decision after I finish my visits."
