Jones plans to be patient

Walter Jones plays all over the field for Redlands, Calif., and that could be a big draw for college coaches since the 6-foot-1, 173-pound athlete has had a chance to try his hand at many different positions.
Jones was supposed to visit UCLA last weekend but did not make it there. He's taking his first official trip to Utah this weekend and Jones said he's planning to take his time with his recruitment, send out film soon and see if other schools get involved.

"I'm playing on defense, I'm playing outside at receiver and they try to get me the ball as much as they can because they like getting it to Craig (Lee)," Jones said.
"They're recruiting me both ways. Some schools like me at one position while others like me somewhere else.
"I'm going to try to make a little first three-game highlight tape or maybe wait another week and then send out more film to coaches."
Offers from Utah, Nevada, Oregon State, Washington State and Eastern Washington have already arrived for Jones, who will see the Utah-BYU game this weekend but has not planned any other official visits yet.
UCLA and Arizona State continue to show the most interest and Jones said he's planning to wait a while longer before making his decision so he can find out if other major programs plan to offer him.
The Utah visit could be big but Jones might wait to see if others get in the mix. Sending out more film could be critical in his recruitment.
"I'm hearing from the same schools," Jones said. "I'm trying to play these first couple games and then see if any new schools recruit me.
"I'll probably send tapes out to the same schools that have been recruiting me before. I don't think it will be anything too major."
