Jones is about to blow up

Delvin Jones is an outstanding looking 2010 prospect from South Florida. Jones, 6-6 and 230 pounds, was at Miami (Fla.) LaSalle High School and is now at Miami (Fla.) Palmetto. Last season he recorded 70 tackles, 20 sacks, and forced two fumbles. At receiver he caught nine passes for 90 yards and scored one touchdown. This season he may be playing offense full time and sparingly on defense.
"The coaches (at Palmetto) said I was going to play receiver and that's what I want to play," Jones said. "I am a strong and physical receiver. I can catch the hitch and make something happen and I can get behind the defense too because I have speed (4.5 forty). Although I do know I may end up playing defensive end in college."

Amazingly, Jones doesn't have any scholarship offers but that's going to change. He says that South Carolina is close to offering.
"I am talking to them and I think it will happen very soon. I also like Miami, Florida (went to UF/Citadel game last fall), Southern Cal and Texas."
Yesterday, Jones worked out at the Badger Sports Skills Passing Camp and was one of the most impressive prospects there. He certainly was the most impressive specimen. Jones is a freak athlete that has great size, athleticism and can really run. He would just run right through press coverage. Jones showed good hands and is a physical presence at receiver.
This kids stock is about to blow up. Jones will be one of the most heavily recruited players in Dade County before it's all said and done.
