Jones holds Tigers high

Silsbee, Texas defensive tackle Ahmad Jones is definitely not short on college options with scholarship offers rising steadily throughout the summer. Regardless of which school comes through next, one SEC school has remained his constant leader.
When the LSU offer came early for the 6-foot-2, 319-pound Jones, he didn't hesitate on naming them the early leader. After attending a three-day camp, the Tigers remain in the top position.
"Mostly, I just like LSU as a school, I like the coaching staff, and it's close to home," Jones said. "It's really hard to explain exactly why they're ahead of everyone else. It's just a good football team to me and they've shown a lot of interest in me."

While at LSU, Jones said he got a chance to see the facilities and also check out the campus. He also said that his No. 2 school would be Oklahoma State. The Cowboys have apparently also been heavy with their interest in the talented Texas lineman.
"They're like LSU in that they show their players a lot of love," Jones said. "After them, I don't know who would be No. 3 or No. 4."
With a decision most likely set for the middle of his senior season, Jones says that he's already thinking about official visits. Four schools look pretty set to receive trips.
"It will be LSU, OSU, Florida, and Nebraska for sure," he said. "I don't know the last one, but those four are pretty solid."
Jones has offers from the four schools he plans to visit in the fall along with Missouri, Tulane, TCU, and Houston.
