Jones hearing from three

Spring practice has ended at one of the top football programs in the entire southeast at Bastrop High School in Louisiana. An undefeated season and a state championship last year will not be an easy task to repeat, but Bastrop has the horses to do just that, including strongside defensive end DeQuinta Jones.
"We're done with Spring Practice," he said. "We already started lifting weights again. I'm just staying in the weight room and getting better at my position."

There have been countless schools dropping by the Bastrop practice fields this spring and a few in particular are showing Jones interest.
"I've been hearing from some schools," he said. "I've been talking to Arkansas, Alabama and Ole Miss. I talked to all of them. I think they're pretty good schools or whatever."
Jones, who is also hearing from Louisiana Tech among others, has not decided the determining factors for where he goes to school but he hopes to see some schools over the summer.
"I may go to a couple camps. I don't know which ones yet."
One goal Jones has over the summer is to gain some weight for the season. He already has the potential to play both strongside defensive end or defensive tackle and he hopes some added weight will only help him off the edge.
"I'm trying to get bigger," he said. "I'd be good at about 270. Right now I'm at about 255."
