Miami (Fla.) Northwestern defensive tackle Benjamin Jones will be one of many highly-recruited athletes from his high school team for the Class of 2008. He has been getting early looks from a number of programs and has a few others that he has his eye on.
"I talked to Auburn and Florida recently," Jones said. "They said that they will be looking up on me this spring."
In addition to the Tigers and Gators, he also likes Florida State, LSU, Miami (Fla.) and Michigan.
"I have visited Miami, but I haven't been to Florida State," he said. "The campus at Miami is nice. It's good I like it."
There are several things that Jones will be looking for in a college.
"Academics will be first," Jones said. "The, I have to see if I like the environment of the school and that's about it."
The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder missed the majority of his junior year with an injury.
"I should be back to 100 percent soon," Jones said. "I am training right now and everything is going well."
Jones plans on attending several camps this spring and summer, but isn't sure which ones he will participate in.
