Jones fighting back with first offer

Tyler (Texas) Lee offensive tackle Trevius Jones suffered an injury as a junior after only three games, but with recovery almost complete, recruiting is picking up and the first offer is on the board.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder has already added his first offer from the Big 12. Several other schools both in and out of the conference are also sending large quantities of mail. Jones says that he also has a favorite, but is trying to keep his options open with the way recruiting is shaping up.

"So far, Baylor has offered," Jones said. "I think that was last Thursday. I was pretty shocked when I got it. I'm not sure if I'm going to commit early because my family and I are still talking about everything."
Jones says that originally Texas was his favorite. However, he knows that there aren't many open spots in the 2008 class for more offensive linemen at UT. Therefore, Jones has turned his attention to all of the interested schools.
"I like LSU, Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU, and a lot of schools around Texas," Jones said. "It's all even I guess."
Jones says that he plans on going to LSU for their spring game after contacting the Tiger coaches. A decision won't come until he feels right.
"I guess when it's that situation that really catches my attention," he said. "It will probably be before the season next year. That gives my family and I time to think about it."
