Jones excited by SEC offer

Jack Jones did not think SEC offers would be coming.
The Long Beach (Calif.) Poly four-star is a little undersized at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds and he thought that was going to be an issue. For Texas A&M, it was not.

"It means a lot," Jones said. "The SEC is big and I never thought I'd get an offer from the SEC because of my size.
"They said their offense is the type of offense I should be in. They can have me at the slot and they also think I can play on the outside from the practice they came and watched. I just have to go up there and check out the campus and see what it's like outside of football."
Jones is attending a camp in Texas later this month and he's hoping to visit College Station at that time. If he cannot, then the four-star prospect said he would consider an official visit there during the season.
The Poly two-way standout said he remains open to all programs but admits Michigan does stand out in his recruitment.
Having coach Jim Harbaugh now in Ann Arbor is definitely a big deal to Jones, who could play receiver or cornerback in college.
"Michigan is most definitely strong just because of Jim Harbaugh, his NFL experience, he coached (Colin) Kaepernick, he coached (Michael) Crabtree, one of the guys I look up to, so to see him develop guys like that I think he could develop me into one of those guys."
Jones, who used to have a top five, is not naming top teams at this point. He wants to take official visits before moving forward with his recruitment.
