Jones Enjoys Time at Cal

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) wide out Derrick Jones was finally able to make one of his official visits after having problems visiting Oregon and Miami the past two weekends. Jones tripped to Cal and said he could be closing in on making his decision shortly.
“Cal was cool,” Jones said. “Berkeley if obviously different than Los Angeles in terms of the people you see. I had a good time though, the players are cool and went out to some party’s and had a good time. I really like the offense and the coaches there. We watched some film and they showed me how I would be used. There’s a chance I could play early there and I’m definitely considering Cal right now.

“I’m not going to take my last visit to Florida State, I’m kind of getting tired of the recruiting process right now. My top three are USC, Cal and Oregon and I should be ready to make my decision in the next week for so. I just have to sit down and talk about things with my parents and see what they think is best for me.”
Although Jones now has an open weekend for a visit since he canceled his trip to FSU, the receiver doubts he’ll visit Oregon. That being said, it appears things will boil down to a USC- Cal battle and a final decision could come within days.
