Jones could be close to commitment

EUGENE, Ore. - Jamaal Jones is not trying to prolong the recruiting process or make things a mystery when it comes to his favorite school. The Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin wide receiver likes one Pac-10 program the most and could commit this summer.
"I like the energy at Washington," Jones said after Sunday's Oregon NIKE Camp. "They have a lot of energy compared to the previous years. Everybody has been stepping it up. The coaches are really into their players. All the players go 100 percent hard. They all want the best out of their players and they get it, too.

"(The new coaching staff) might be it because they're all hyped up and just always full of energy. Every time they talk to me they're just always yelling and stuff."
Not only are the Huskies his favorite team but he could finish up his recruitment and commit to Washington this summer. Unless something unexpected happens, Jones should make a commitment way before his senior season starts.
"I think so, probably in June," Jones said. "Not any other schools in the Pac-10 have offered except WSU and I'm not really that interested in them but Washington has been pretty much the only ones and no one else has offered.
"It makes it easy because I can go up there and I can start to get to know everybody right away. It's the same with the quarterbacks, I can get to know them, and it makes for a better relationship."
Washington State and Idaho have also offered Jones, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect who said Boise State has gotten more involved recently and that UCLA has been "on and off." Oregon had been in the mix but Jones isn't sure where the Ducks stand at this point - and it's getting to be about that time to make a decision.
"Oregon has been involved and they said they were going to offer but they haven't so I don't know what their plans are toward me," Jones said. "Right now it's getting kind of late."
Washington is getting a big-time receiver if Jones commits. He was arguably the top player at his position at Sunday's NIKE Camp and showed outstanding ability to catch anything thrown in his direction. Jones probably needs to add some weight but his speed and his hands are great.
