Joiner likes FSU, rest of Big Three

One of the most intriguing prospects in the Sunshine State is three-star safety prospect Tony Joiner. Maybe it was because he played for a poor team and maybe it was because he is thinking hard about the Big Three in Florida.
Whatever it is, it’s just starting to look like the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Joiner is just starting to make a splash on the national recruiting scene.

“I have offers from N.C. State, Alabama, Ole Miss, North Carolina and UCF,” Joiner said. “Those are the ones that I have in writing.”
Joiner said that he feels like he’s just now starting to get the attention he deserves, especially after a strong showing at the Florida State summer camp. He said his team’s poor record (1-9) is one reason why he feels like he was overlooked earlier by some of the bigger programs that recruit Florida.
Joiner was about the only bright spot in that season, recording more than 100 tackles and seven interceptions.
“It was tough,” he said. “You have such high expectations and you want to do your best, but it was tough to keep your head up. But now there are some things to look forward to – my senior season and these college offers.”
But he’s hoping that offers from the Big Three materialize.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Florida State, Florida and Miami,” he said. “They would have to be my top three for sure. I like Florida State probably the best since I liked what I saw up there and camp and the coaches were good to me, too. I like Florida State, then Miami, Florida and N.C. State and Auburn. Those are the top five.”
Joiner said, though, that even if he did get an offer from FSU he might still wait things out and take some visits. Joiner is ranked as the nation’s No. 17 safety prospect.
