Johnston looking for first big game

Things haven't started exactly how Mansfield (Texas) Summit running back Stephen Johnston envisioned but he's ready to do what he can to get his team back to their normal winning ways.
The 1-2 Summit team has used both of their top running backs interestingly. Johnston plays more of a running back role, while his teammate Brandon Oliver is used on special teams, as a fullback, and a slot receiver. While Johnston is looking over offers, he's looking to have a breakout game as a senior as well.

"We all do our jobs and the running backs have been letting me do my thing," Johnston said. "We're just trying to get it done."
Johnston has only rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, but is looking to increase that.
On the recruiting front, he's still holding offers from Purdue, Wyoming, New Mexico State, Louisiana Lafayette, Air Force, Navy, and Army. He's heading to North Texas this weekend for an unofficial visit.
"They haven't offered, but I haven't really talked to them about it yet," he said. "They sent me an invitation and they've been sending me a lot of letters. It's a school close to home, so that could work out depending on the atmosphere."
While UNT is up there with Johnston, it's not his favorite. That label belongs to a Big Ten team.
"I'd have to say Purdue (is on top)," Johnston said. "I've got an offer, it's great to play football, but it's important to me that I get a good education. The kind of career I'm thinking about is engineering and they have a great program up there for that."
