Johnson waiting on recruiting

Galena Park, Texas defensive end Trumaine Johnson is not focusing on recruiting too much, instead he’s trying to make the most of his final season of prep football.
“I really haven’t been focused on recruiting a lot,” the 6-foot-2, 255-pound Johnson said. “I have just been wanting to have as good a season as I can and then worry about which college at that point.”

The colleges aren’t waiting for the four-star rated end to try and convince him to come play for them.
“I get calls,” he said. “But, I’m not setting up visits yet. I’m going to wait until our season is over to do that.”
Johnson has narrowed the focus of schools to three.
“I’m pretty set on three schools at this point,” he said. “It is LSU, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. Those are the three I want to visit, but I’m not close to a decision at all. I’m not favoring any of them.”
Johnson’s Galena Park squad lost their first game of the year on Friday.
“We lost to Crosby 38-28,” he said. “It was our first loss of the year. It was also our first district game. We just need to rebound and get Forest Brook this week.”
