Johnson to decide this season

Taariq Johnson does not have a specific timetable for a commitment but the 2017 four-star receiver feels like making a decision sometime during his junior season makes sense.
The Los Angeles Augustus Hawkins standout said he plans to graduate from high school early so his plan is to get something out of the way this season so he can focus on his senior year and then head off to college.

"I'm going to be committing this season," Johnson said.
"I don't have a definite date but it's most likely going to happen this season.
"I just want to get it out of the way. With how things are going now I'm going to be done with high school right after the first semester of my senior year. I won't be around for much longer so I just want to get it out of the way."
More than anything, the 6-foot-3, 206-pound prospect wants schools that are considering getting involved in his recruitment to get in there soon.
Texas A&M, Arizona, USC and UCLA are all showing interest but since he plans to make his commitment in the coming months then he would like to hear more from those schools - and any others - sooner rather than later.
"There really is no major approach to it," Johnson said. "I'm just trying to let people know I'm going to be making a decision this year. That's pretty much it."
So far, Johnson has been offered by Baylor, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Washington and Ohio. The four-star does not claim any leaders at this point but could start figuring that out soon.
