Johnson sets the record straight

Safety prospect Marlon Johnson (6-0. 183, 4.5) from Inglewood, Calif., took his second recruiting visit to New Mexico and it has been reported that Johnson committed to the Lobos. Johnson wants to set the record straight.
"There was a misunderstanding about me committing to the University of New Mexico on my trip there last week," Johnson said. "Although I rate New Mexico high on my list, my father and I are going to make the decision after all of my trips are over.

"I still have other schools to evaluate which leads to my trip to UNLV," Johnson said. "I plan on having fun and enjoying my stay and who knows what else is in store. I am just thankful that I have the opportunity to go to college and play football.
Besides Nevada, UNLV, and New Mexico; Washington and Cal are other possibilities.
Johnson's versatility is one of the reasons that colleges like him. He started at six different positions during his senior season. He also returned punts and kicks.
As a defensive back, playing both corner and safety, Johnson racked up 37 tackles, three pass deflects, one pick and one fumble recovery.
While playing quarterback, running back and wide receiver this season, Johnson rushed for 159 yards and scored four touchdowns. He had 11 receptions for 213 yards and one receiving touchdown. He passed for 261 yards and threw for two touchdowns.
