Johnson sets his second official visit

Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey running back Jeremiah Johnson is still sitting on just one offer but interest has definitely picked up in the last couple of weeks and the athlete has set up his second official visit.
Johnson, 5-9, 185 pounds is one of the top running backs in the West this year. He was a second team all-state underclass selection a year ago and is having another strong season this year despite sharing time in the backfield with talented junior running back Stephon Johnson (no relation).

Oregon was the first school to offer and with his brother Jerome already there on campus, many felt Johnson was a likely candidate to commit early to the Ducks.
“I always wanted to take my trips,” Johnson said. “I’m not taking them just to take them, I really have a sincere interest in a lot of other schools. I mean Oregon is probably my top school right now but it’s not like they’re on top by a huge margin. If they were an overwhelming choice right now, I probably would commit but that’s just not the case.”
Johnson said he’s hearing consistently right now from a host of schools including Oregon, Washington State, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Arizona, Washington, San Diego State, UCLA and Nevada.
“I already have a visit set to Oregon for (Jan. 7) and I’m visiting Washington State (Jan. 21),” Johnson said. “I think Washington State is pretty close to offering. I just want to take all five of my trips and then I’ll be ready to make my decision pretty close to Signing Day.”
Johnson and his 11-1 Dons team will play Crenshaw, Los Angeles in a city semi-final game later tonight. Dorsey has already beaten Crenshaw 24-20 earlier in the year.
