Johnson sets first official visit

Delando Johnson has been courted by some of the top programs on the east coast and in the Midwest so his first official visit might surprise you.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete recently said he's hoping for offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and others, but in the meantime he's planning to visit one of the schools that has been recruiting him the longest, and consistently.

"I'm taking an official to Toledo on December 1," Johnson said. "I do want to visit Penn State , Ohio State, Tennessee and Illinois but I don't know when I'm going to do that. I actually don't have any favorites yet."
Calvert Hall had a bye in the first round of the playoffs. They have a second round matchup on Saturday. If they win that they will be in the championship, and after that they have their annual Turkey Bowl.
What is Johnson looking for in a school?
"I want to win," he said. "I want to go to a team that wins. I don't like losing a lot of games. I want to be in a place where I feel like it's a family atmosphere. I'm not just another number coming up to play. A family atmosphere is important and that's basically it. It doesn't have to be close or anything. I just want to play good ball."
Ohio State has sent some encouraging signals to Johnson, but his fate probably isn't in his own hands right now.
"They had a guy they offered before I came on the scene and he hasn't committed yet so I'm the next guy up," he said. "Same with Tennessee . I came at the end of the summer and they were filled with scholarships at the position so I'm the next guy."
