It's pretty clear on who the frontrunner has been for Ponca City, Okla, running back Josh Johnson as his senior season and recruiting process has made it's way along.
With two offers in hand from North Carolina and Iowa State, one of those teams have really pushed themselves into the forefront and with an official visit on tap, it's very clear on who leads for Johnson.
"Iowa State has just been calling me a lot, I talk to them by far the most," Johnson said. "I guess you could say they're the favorite. They always talk to me about their running backs and how I fit in their system. I really like the idea of playing time there."
North Carolina has offered Johnson, but contact has been somewhat minimal as of late. Johnson is not quite sure what has happened. However, with an official visit set for Iowa State on Dec. 9, it's easy to see who the team is in the driver's seat.
However, he's not exactly ready to make his decision tomorrow.
"It will definitely be after the season," Johnson said. "I would say it would be a decision sometime close to February."
As for new schools to enter the mix, Tulsa could be in that spot.
"They said they don't offer early, but they're going to wait and see how things go with my test scores," Johnson said. "I'll take my ACT this Saturday and then we'll see."
