Johnson planning UK visit

Euclid, Ohio defensive back Anthony Johnson has long-held Kentucky in high esteem, but he has yet to get down to Lexington and check out the Wildcat's program in-person.
"I am planning a visit down there right now," Johnson said. "We were supposed to visit them this past weekend, but they were out of the office so I have to reschedule the visit."

Kentucky is one of eight schools that has offered the 6-foot-3, 187-pound Johnson a scholarship, and he is looking forward to seeing the campus for himself.
"I like Kentucky a lot," Johnson said. "I really just want to experience the whole campus life and how it is on game days and practice days and see how the coaching staff is because if I do choose to go there the coaches and the players are who I am going to be around."
Kentucky is recruiting Johnson as cornerback and his primary recruiting contact at the school is assistant coach Vince Marrow.
"The thing I like about Coach Marrow is he is a cool guy," Johnson said. "He stressed to me the time he spent in the NFL and he expresses to me how cool it would be to be a part of the Wildcats."
With the Spring Evaluation Period opening a month ago, Johnson is starting to field more interest from some new schools.
"I am hoping that Illinois offers. I know they've shown some interest," Johnson said. "I actually just got off the phone with Temple and they have shown some interest. Also, Pitt has shown some interest."
Johnson plans to attend a camp at Illinois this summer. He is also planning to camp at Louisville, which is a school that has sent him quite a bit of mail during the recruiting process.
"I am hoping to make a decision maybe sometime this summer, just to get it out of the way," Johnson said. "I am still wide open as of right now."
A three-star prospect, Johnson recorded 50 solo tackles, two interceptions and nine pass break ups as a junior.
