Johnson makes big change to visits

Four-star rated safety Daniel Johnson is making some changes to his official visit list.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Rivals250 member, rated as the No. 16 overall prospect in the state of Texas, battled through injury this year to his knee and though he was not able to play, he gathered a ton of recruiting interest. Johnson had already seen Texas Tech a couple of weeks ago and Tennessee was up next. However, things have changed.

"I'm not going to Tennessee this weekend," Johnson said. "I cancelled the trip and my friend Russell Roberts is going to Oklahoma State on Jan. 13, so I'm going to go there then as well. Then I've got an official visit set for Texas A&M on Jan. 20."
It appears that the Volunteers have slipped down on the list. With his brother, Corey Campbell, attending Tennessee many thought Johnson would at least give the SEC team a trip.
So what happened?
"Nothing big except that my brother kind of wants to come back home, so if he's not going to be there, I don't want to waste my time," Johnson said. "My favorites now are pretty much Oklahoma State, LSU, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. A&M and Tech are still my top two."
Aside from heading to Oklahoma State, the Aggies' strong position got them their official visit for late January.
"I'm not sure what to expect, but they're one of my top teams," Johnson said. "I'm trying to not get too built up about anything because I did that with Tech and it wasn't what I expected at all. It was pretty exciting and I really liked the town."
Johnson says he doesn't have a set time for a decision.
