Galena Park, Texas defensive end Trumaine Johnson continues to look around at all of his options.
“I’m keeping things wide open still,” the 6-foot-2, 255-pound Johnson said. “I am looking at a few schools in this area. Texas, Texas A&M and LSU are a few schools I am keeping an eye on.”
Johnson has yet to attend any summer camps, but hopes to find his way to a campus or two during the summer.
“Right now it looks like I’ll make it to a school or two next month. But, right now, I don’t have any trips set.”
Johnson heard from a lot of schools during the May calling period, including a few with scholarship offers to send his way.
“Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Nebraska, LSU, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas are the schools that I know have already offered as of right now. But, I’m not favoring any school right now. I don’t need to rush into a decision. All of the schools are quality schools. I don’t think I could make a wrong choice with any of them.”
Johnson isn’t looking into a quick decision.
“I have plenty of time. More and more schools are recruiting me all the time. I will want to learn as much about the schools as I can. If that means I end up taking all of my visits, then I will. If I find the place I am comfortable with, then I will go ahead and get it done with.”
