Johnson, Jr. has six offers

Keyshawn Johnson, Jr., has been amazed by all the early attention he's received whether it's the six offers or all the interest from schools across the country.
He's the son of a former USC standout wide receiver and NFL veteran for more than a decade but the 2017 receiver from Mission Viejo, Calif., has a lot of talent as well. He's not just receiving offers because of his famous name.

Still, for him to get offers from Arizona State, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, SMU and Tennessee already has been a surprise for everyone involved.
"I was really in shock for all these offers," Johnson said.
"I'm really grateful and blessed that they came for me. I try to stay as humble as I can. I try not to get any of that in my head and to keep playing how I do and just be the same person I am with no offers."
Staying humble should be no problem. His dad is the 7on7 coach of Team 19 and his coach at Mission Viejo, Bob Johnson, is known not to mess around or allow players to get big heads. That stuff doesn't fly in Johnson's circle.
For Johnson, that doesn't seem like it will be a problem since he's been around high-level success his whole life.
"(Coach Johnson) makes fun of the fact that I have offers," Johnson said. "If I get big-headed or something he will tell me I'm nothing yet. He understands when I'm cocky I don't mean it and he makes sure I stay humble."
According to the 2017 receiver, USC has no specific advantage in his recruitment just because his father played there. He might want to make his own way in football but still, Johnson is highly familiar with the USC program and recently visited for practice.
"I don't really mind it," Johnson said. "I feel USC is just another Division I school where I'd be blessed to get an offer. It doesn't really change anything. I don't want to be in my dad's shadow as much so it's not that big of a deal for me.
"There are no early favorites right now. I need to see the schools. The only school I've visited so far is Arizona State, Arizona and USC I saw practice a couple weeks ago but other than that there are no favorites at all."
Johnson, who looked good this past weekend at the Passing Down Elite 7on7 SoCal Regional, had just returned from unofficial visits to Arizona and Arizona State with his passing league team on Saturday.
ASU has already offered. Arizona did not offer but is now showing interest in him.
"For Arizona State I went to go see the practice," Johnson said. "I like how they practice because they practice with a lot of speed.
"For Arizona, I saw the campus and the facilities and I met the coaching staff. ASU offered me a couple weeks ago and there's been no talk from Arizona about one yet."
