Johnson has UCLA on top

Rahyme Johnson spent a good deal of time with UCLA linebackers coach Scott White last week during the Bruins' camps.
Late in the week, the 2017 three-star from Los Angeles Salesian landed his latest offer from UCLA and it has clearly moved to the top for Johnson.

"Right now, UCLA is No. 1 on my list," Johnson said.
"They run the same base defense as ours. I know their defense a little bit more. It's close to home so I'll be right out here. The environment is nice. It's in a nice city so I like it."
The 6-foot-4, 196-pound prospect who is projected as an outside linebacker has seen his recruitment take off in recent weeks.
During a trip to the Pacific Northwest, Johnson landed offers from Washington and Washington State. Johnson said he favors the Huskies but that UCLA still tops his list of frontrunners.
"I just visited UW," Johnson said. "We had a camp out there and then Washington State had a camp in Seattle so we stopped out there and they offered me out there.
"Right now, I like UW more. I went out there and I haven't been to Wazzu. When we went out there I really liked Seattle, the environment, the feel, the people are really nice out there. Their facilities are nice, their field is nice, their team is nice, their defense is good and I understand it."
Johnson took an unofficial visit to USC recently but said he likes the Bruins more in his recruitment. He is still waiting on an offer from Oregon, which has been showing more interest recently.
