Johnson focused on three schools

Galveston (Texas) Ball safety Roderick Johnson has trimmed one school off of his list this summer, but the school helped him do it.

”Everything is pretty much the same,” the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Johnson said. “There hasn’t been a lot of activity from many schools except from a few letters here and there.”
Earlier on, the three-star rated Johnson had listed LSU, Arizona, Arkansas and Texas A&M as his top schools. Now, the Aggies have dropped off of the list.
“My top three are LSU, Arizona and Arkansas,” he said. “I haven’t heard from A&M for quite a while. They haven’t been in touch with me for a while. I guess they must have found someone else at this position.”
The fact that the Aggies haved moved in other directions doesn’t upset Johnson.
“It’s fine with me,” he said. “The other schools are all good places. LSU is kind of close to home. But it is out of state for my personal space. They are a dominant team on the field and are always in the mix for the conference race.
“Arizona is a school that is on the rise. Every year they have a little spark about them. I feel it is just a matter of a time that they will do some damage in the Pac-10. That would be fun to be a part of a team like that.
“Arkansas has a good architecture school. Their football team is a good. The school and community are a good all around place. I could enjoy it there.”
Despite his interest in the three schools, don’t look for an early decision from Johnson.
“They have all offered me a scholarship. But, I’m going to wait until my senior season is over to make a decision. There could be other schools that I like, and I want to make sure I find the right place. Right now it is those three that I am really considering.”
