Johnson firms up commitment to OSU

Galveston (Texas) Ball linebacker Roderick Johnson made his commitment. Now, the other visits he had planned have been canceled.
“I have a solid commitment to Oklahoma State,” the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Johnson said. “I will be canceling the other visits I had scheduled. I will call Arizona, LSU and Ohio State and letting them know I won’t be coming.”

Despite his commitment, some schools continue to call.
“Iowa State and Missouri continue to call,” he said. “But, I won’t be setting up any official visits with them. I’ve told them I am committed.”
Johnson had scheduled a visit with Missouri for the upcoming weekend.
“I already cancelled the visit this weekend. I’m taking the ACT and couldn’t make it.”
Johnson was named team Most Valuable Player at the season ending banquet Monday evening.
“I’m proud of that,” he said. “That was nice. Then today, my coach told me I was going to be named the defensive Player of the Year for District 24-5A sometime soon. He’s been told I won it. But, I don’t know when the award is coming out.”
