Johnson checks out more schools

Kirk Johnson recently landed his latest offer from Washington and while he does not know the new coaching staff all that much he has already taken a trip to that school and likes it a lot.
The San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian three-star running back saw a game at Washington last season and said he definitely likes the place - and now needs to learn more about the coaches there.

"I haven't really talked to them in a while and then they started adding me on Facebook and Twitter," Johnson said. "We started talking a little bit in the last couple weeks.
"I was more familiar with their old staff so I'm going to try to get to know the new coaches a little better because I actually took a visit last season and got to see them play Cal but that was with the old staff.
"It's good. I definitely liked what I saw - everything. I liked how live the stadium got, too. It got really loud in there and that's something I really liked as well."
So far, the 6-foot, 200-pound running back has been offered by Cal, Colorado State, San Jose State, Texas, Utah and Washington. The Longhorns still stand out most in his recruitment but Johnson said he's not ready to decide yet.
"Texas is still looking strong," Johnson said. "I'm still pretty open though. I have a good relationship with Texas. Texas is still high on the list."
Johnson, who took an unofficial visit to Cal last weekend and said the Golden Bears will stay under serious consideration, also just returned from a trip to USC.
The Trojans are keeping tabs on him but might need to see a little more before an offer comes. The Northern California recruit is also working on a trip to UCLA.
"It's kind of the same with USC and UCLA," Johnson said. "I'm still talking with them and I'm trying to get down to UCLA. I saw USC last weekend but UCLA was on spring break so I didn't get a chance to see them.
"I really liked it a lot actually. It has good traditional stuff and I really like the new stuff and the way they're going about their transition. They have some new buildings and facilities that I really liked as well and the academic support.
"They said they really like me but with all the sanctions they have to make the right decisions. They like me and want to make sure so they're going to come out either later this month or in May and watch us practice."
