Johnson back from Clemson trip

Keyshawn Johnson, Jr., visited Clemson this summer and the 2017 wide receiver was back on Saturday to watch the in-state rivalry game against South Carolina.
The atmosphere was spectacular but it was something else that especially stood out to the Calabasas, Calif., standout.

"I really liked it," Johnson said. "I talked to coach (Dabo) Swinney in his office and that was probably the highlight.
"Coach Jeff Scott was pretty much escorting us around and showing us the locker room. I put on the jersey and took a picture which was pretty cool. I saw them run down Howard's Rock which was awesome. The student section behind us was crazy so it was a really good visit."
Talking with Swinney stood out most to Johnson, who already has landed offers from Arizona State, Cal, Clemson, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, San Diego State, SMU, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
"Just talking to head coaches to me is a pretty big thing," Johnson said. "Usually, you just talk to one of the offensive coaches or the recruiting people which is good, too. I love talking to coaches. A head coach talking to you one-on-one is a little more special.
"He told me if I want to be uncommon to go there, that they're different and he encouraged me to visit other schools but to give Clemson a chance. He said, 'Go visit UCLA, go visit wherever but you'll know Clemson is different.' I just liked talking to him and he said I was a great player. He's a great guy and a great coach."
Clemson definitely stands out to Johnson but he just wrapped up his sophomore season and is not prepared to name frontrunners yet. He's still interested in a lot of schools and with new interest from Michigan State, Texas A&M and others the 2017 recruit doesn't want to rush a thing.
"I don't really have any favorites because I'm just a sophomore," Johnson said.
"I have a long time to go but they're up there with Ohio State and the other schools I visited. I'm just getting a feel for the schools. Clemson really stood out to me but I don't want to say it's a favorite. I don't want anybody to be a favorite right now."
