John David Booty to USC

Superstar quarterback John David Booty (6-4, 195, 4.5) from Shreveport (La.) Evangel has committed to the USC Trojans according to a very reliable source.
Rivals100 wasn’t able to reach yesterday evening as he was still in the Los Angeles area after spending time watching the Trojans in spring practice.

Booty was selected first-team all-state and everything team in between as a junior.
Booty threw for 4,330 yards and 50 touchdowns as a sophomore. He threw for 4,144 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior. For his career Booty has hit on 555 passes out of 864 passes while completing 64% of his attempts. Booty has 88 touchdowns for his high school.
That Booty has committed does not surprise. In as earlier interview with Rivals.com his father John Dean Booty said, “John David really has an affinity for the West Coast. He has been out there several times over the past few years and really likes it a lot.”
USC was his favorite and the family really liked USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow. If our source is like his usual self and he is correct that Booty did commit to the Trojans, USC wins the services of this talented signal caller over other offers from UCLA, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, ASU and Miami.
“As a quarterback John David is big athletic and has a powerful arm like Josh,” John Booty said in an earlier interview about his son. “He also has the speed and quickness of his brother Abram. He has all the good athletic qualities of both of his brothers.”
Another thing that has made Booty an even more valuable recruit is, if decides to, he could graduate in December making him able to enroll into USC in time to participate in spring ball in 2004.
Rivals will confirm this situation when we catch up with the Booty’s.
