John Curtis standout picks up first offer
River Ridge (La.) John Curtis offensive lineman Luke Charpentier has his first offer off the board. The class of 2010 prospect helped lead his team to a Class 2A State Championship and has been rewarded with an in-state scholarship offer.
"I got my first offer today," Charpentier said on Monday. "Coach JT came in and told me that Tulane had come in and offered a full scholarship. It feels real good because I've been so anxious to find out so it feels good to finally get that first one in."

With the Tulane offer in, Charpentier has some weight off his shoulders but he will be taking into a count a number of programs and the first on his list for a visit is Alabama. He plans on attending the Alabama junior day this weekend with teammate Walker Ashburn.
"Last week Alabama told me that they were real impressed with the season I had this year and they told me they hoped to see me on Saturday at their Junior Day so I'm going to leave Friday night and go over there to their Junior Day."
Recently, the offensive tackle has been throwing shotput and discus for track while working out and staying in shape. The spring and summer will likely consist of more football.
"I know for sure I'm going to be going to the Alabama and LSU camps and stuff like that," he said. "I'm not sure as far as combines. I want to go to one or two of them, I'm not sure."
As for the Tulane offer, Charpentier is excited to receive it and has already had a chance to see the facilities first-hand.
"This year we were lucky enough for practice one day when it was raining pretty bad we were able to go practice on [Tulane's] field and they have real nice facilities and athletic program. I have a lot of friends that go there and I've heard good things about it."
Despite his interest, Charpentier still hopes to explore more options.
"I'm definitely going to visit but I wasn't really looking for a local school. I more wanted to go out of state or to LSU but I'll definitely check it out and give them the benefit of the doubt."
