John Curtis DL holding three offers

River Ridge (La.) John Curtis strongside defensive end Walker Ashburn picked up his first offer from Nebraska back in March. Now that some coaches have had the opportunity to see the 6-3, 245-pounder this spring, two more offers are in and more could be on their way.
"I got a scholarship offer today from Southern Miss," Ashburn said on Thursday. "He told me the other night that he was sending it. I have offers from SMU, Southern Miss and Nebraska."

Ashburn has some familiarity with the Southern Miss program and has had the opportunity to visit Hattiesburg earlier this spring.
"I took a visit to their school to see their spring game," he said. "It was real nice and pretty. I had also seen Southern Methodist a while back when we played Euless Trinity and they had a real pretty campus."
With three offers in, several other schools have scheduled to come by the John Curtis campus in the coming days.
"Mississippi State is coming to school Friday to come watch us practice because we have a scrimmage against ourselves," he said. "Ole Miss is supposedly coming too and Duke is coming as well and so is Arkansas. I talked to Illinois the other day and Northern Illinois. I talked to Coach Burns from Alabama the other week."
While Ashburn doesn't have any plans yet for the summer, he does anticipate taking in some camps and college visits. However, he does know that he still has work to do personally before the fall.
"There's always room for improvement," he said. "There are always things that I can fix and do a little better and things I can improve on. I haven't thought about [summer camps] yet. I'm waiting for the school year and spring to get done with first so after that I'll figure out who all wants me to go and is talking to me."
