Jim Jim names leader

Delran (N.J.) Holy Cross wide receiver James "Jim Jim" Townsend had co-favorites the last time we spoke to him. Now there is a clear leader.
"It's still South Carolina," said the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder. "I had a great visit down there and I felt very comfortable. I'm not ready to commit or anything, but I like the coaches and players there."

Townsend has set up four more official visits and has dropped Virginia, his one-time co-leader, from his list.
"They were playing games with me," he said. "They didn't really want me I don't think."
Townsend will visit Pitt this weekend, West Virginia Jan. 10, Iowa on Jan. 17 and Syracuse on Jan. 24.
"Iowa is probably my second favorite," he said. "I like their recruiting coach and I like the offense there. I want to go someplace where I can impact early and I think I can do that at all of the schools I like."
