Jersey WR earns first five offers

Teaneck, N.J. wideout Oderick Turner entered the Elite College Combine in early May with some interest from schools, but no written offers. All that changed with a stellar performance.
"I now have offers from Pitt, Wisconsin, NC State, Indiana and Syracuse so far," said the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder who excelled in one-on-one drills at the combine. "Right now I like, in order, Pitt, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Michigan and Indiana."

And what does he like about his favorites?
"Pitt, what I know of the coaches so far, I really like them because they like me as a player and as a person. They also throw the football a lot," he said. "The Badgers are a great football team while Syracuse is competitive academically and on the football field.
"Michigan has a great football tradition and they have good academics and like to throw the ball as well. Finally, I really like the coaching staff at Indiana."
Turner, who had 25 catches for 860 yards and five scores as a junior, will attend junior day at Syracuse on June 12 and plans to camp at a few different places.
"I'm not sure where yet," he said. "I'm looking to be able to have a good relationship with the coaches so that I will be able to relate with them on any level, so I'd like to get to some schools of interest. I also want the school to have a great academic background because if I don't make it to the next level then I will have a good chance to make it in another way."
Turner plans to decide on a school sometime during his senior season.
