Jersey twins enjoy Palmetto State

Despite watching the South Carolina Gamecocks get drubbed at home by in-state rival Clemson, Darren and Joe Salinardi both enjoyed their official visit to Columbia.
"They loved it," said Jersey City (N.J.) Hudson Catholic head coach Rob Stern. "I just talked to them and they said they liked it a lot."

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound twin defensive tackles were impressed with many things in Columbia.
"They said that the people were great and coach Holtz was a straight-forward guy," Stern said. "They have a good relationship with coach Guge (Dave DeGuglielmo and they were impressed how much people are into football down there. All in all, I would say it was a great trip for them."
However, the brothers did not commit and still plan on taking other visits.
"They have Rutgers for Dec. 12 and Indiana for Jan. 16," he said. "Boston College, UConn, Maryland and Iowa are trying to get visits as well and they were very impressed with the Clemson team. The last visits will be set soon."
