Jersey Star Has It Down To Five

Cory Boyd from Orange, N.J. has more than a dozen offers from top programs in the country and has narrowed his choices to five. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete is being recruited as either a running back or free safety depending on the program.
"It's split right now, half the schools are recruiting me as a running back and the other half as a safety. I'm not even sure what position I'd rather play."

Cory has a short list of schools he interested in. Rutgers, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina State look like they’ll get official visits from the New Jersey standout.
"I'd say that Rutgers, Maryland and Virginia are my top three in no particular order, followed by the other two."
Last season Cory rushed for 1,785 yards on only 120 carries. He scored 22 touchdowns including one receiving and one kickoff return. On defense he was in on 80 tackles and had eight interceptions. A great athlete, Cory has 4.45-second 40-yard dash speed.
"I really like the coaching staffs at my top three. Rutgers gives me that family atmosphere and I think I'll have the chance to play early. Maryland and Virginia are both in nice locations and I like the academic support at Maryland."
Cory is one of the top players in the talent-filled Garden State and should continue to be heavily recruited as the season is ready to begin.
"I'm definitely going to take all five visits. The five that I mentioned will most likely be the five I visit."
