Pennington (N.J.) Pennington Prep safety Dontae Johnson is one of the hottest prospects in the Garden State. You only need to look at his offer list and how it is growing to see that.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound defensive back recently picked up four new offers. Previously he held offers from the likes of Michigan State, Maryland, NC State, UConn, Minnesota, Virginia and Louisville. Who else is in the hunt now?
"I got offers from Vanderbilt, Syracuse, West Virginia and Stanford," Johnson said on Tuesday evening. "They came in about the same time. They're all saying I can come in and play safety -- my strong position -- and possibly a little special teams."
Johnson said he has spoken to coaches from all four of those schools and will give them all an honest look before making his decision.
He went on to say that his four favorites remain the same -- Michigan State, Maryland, NC State and UConn.
That list is subject to change as he learns more.
"As of now I just need to get to all the campuses and see what it's like everywhere," he said. "I'm definitely going to visit Stanford (this summer) as of last week, but other than that I don't have any other plans yet."
