Jersey QB pulls the trigger

Wykoff (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep quarterback Mike Teel committed to a school this morning. So who gets New Jersey's top quarterback?
"I committed to Rutgers this morning," said the 6-foot-4, 208-pounder. "It's the place for me. I'll get the chance to get down there and play early, they have been honest and straight up with me throughout the whole recruiting process and they run an NFL style offense.
"It was just the place that I felt most comfortable. I have a great relationship with the coaches and it just felt right."

Teel also had an offer from Wisconsin and heavy interest from Virginia, Michigan State and others. In the end it came down to the Knights and Spartans.
"I prefer to play closer to home so my parents can see me play," he said. "Coach Schiano was very excited when I told him. I'm happy with my choice. It just helps my recruiting class, and now im hoping the other top kids in the state stay home with me so we can win a national championship at Rutgers."
As a junior Teel completed 117 of 179 passes (65.4-percent) for 2,159 yards and 28 touchdowns with only six interceptions. Although classified as a pro style quarterback, he also rushed for 372 yards and six scores.
Teel projects as a full qualifier with a 3.0 GPA and a 1080 on the SAT.
