Jersey QB is waiting for more offers

Last month Marlton (N.J.) Cherokee quarterback Demetrius Richardson picked up his first Division I offer. More schools are showing an interest in the 6-foot-2, 217-pounder. Is anyone else close to pulling the trigger?
"I've got offers from Villanova, Delaware State, Eastern Kentucky, Howard and Connecticut," he said. "I've been talking to a lot of coaches calling them. They are all waiting to see my senior film and then they'll go from there. Right now those schools waiting include Penn State, Maryland, JMU and Iowa."

Does anyone stick out to the two-star prospect?
"I'm definitely in love with Penn State, JMU and Connecticut because of the facilities and coaching staffs," he said. "I think Maryland and Iowa are up there too. Maryland is in the ACC and was one of the first schools to start recruiting. They have a real great campus. I'm real close with coach Wilson from Iowa.
"As for Penn State and JMU, Penn State offers academics. I'm looking to walk away with a great degree. They are in the Big Ten with some great completion. I think I could become a better player there. I went down to JMU and wasn't expecting to see what I did. Their coaching staff and facilities are great. I got a real good feel for the whole campus."
With some favorites already established, is Richardson looking at visits?
"I definitely am," he said. "I don't have any officials set right now. I will take one up to UConn sometime. I've got to decide on the other four during the season."
