Jersey OL schedules first official visit

Offensive tackle Phil Trautwein is one of the top players at his position in the nation, and has captured the attention of college coaches with his polished play on the line. He has several offers, but does he have any leaders?
"There are several schools that lead at this point," he said. "Maryland, Michigan State, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Rutgers, South Carolina and Pitt are all in the running," said Trautwein. "I'm interested in all of those schools and could see myself ending up at any one of those places. But all of that is subject to change. I don't want to cut off any options I have or burn any bridges with schools. There's still a while before I have to make a decision."

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound tackle from Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern Regional runs the 40-yard dash in 5.3 seconds and has quick feet for a player his size. He does an outstanding job protecting his quarterback from fast and strong defensive ends, and is a solid drive blocker as well.
"Michigan State and Iowa have always been high on my list, and they still are," he said. "I'm going to visit Iowa on Dec. 12 and I'll set up a trip to Michigan State sometime as well. It would have been nice to go to Iowa during a week of a game, but I'm just happy to be visiting period."
Trautwein is ranked by Rivals.com as the No.30 offensive tackle in the nation, and is the No. 56 player on the Atlantic East Amazing 80 list.
