Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep has sent their high school football players to schools across the country over the years as one of the region's top talent-producing schools.
Their junior linebacker Ryan Cobb is taking a look at schools close to home, as well as those that aren't so close.
One school from the Big Ten has piqued the interest of the 6-foot, 216-pound linebacker. Just how serious are things between the two parties?
"I believe in a couple of weeks I'm going out to Iowa's spring practice on April 10," Cobb said.
"I've been talking to Iowa a lot. They said they're very interested. They like my highlight film I sent out there. Obviously, they're one of my top schools as of right now."
Boston College is another school that Cobb has shown a lot of interest in, and a school that has been a favorite destination of prospects from Don Bosco.
It's an Ivy League school, however, that has given Cobb his only offer.
"Actually, Harvard is showing me a lot of interest right now," he said. "They're my first offer and I like them."
Cobb said he has also been receiving mail from Princeton, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon, Stanford and UCLA.
He said location will not be a factor in his decision. Does Cobb have a timeframe for narrowing things down?
"There's no real timeframe. Hopefully when the offers start coming in I might be able to narrow it down."
