Jersey LB lands his second BCS offer

Irvington, N.J. linebacker Dawan Nolton added an offer from the Big East in the past week. The 5-foot-11, 192-pounder is now up to four Division I scholarships.
"I got one new offer from Connecticut last week," he said. "I really don't know too much about the school. I know they need someone to play the linebacker spot and that interests me. I'm hoping to take a visit there soon."

Nolton doesn't have a date on an unofficial to Connecticut, but he is pretty sure on Pittsburgh.
"I'm going up there in two weeks during our bye week," he said. "I really want to go see the team, how they practice and find out what it takes to be part of the squad."
Is there a chance the two-star prospect could commit on either visit?
"I don't think so; I don't want to do it early."
Nolton believes other schools including New Mexico State and Akron are close to offering. Currently Nolton claims there are no favorites.
Nolton and his teammate, Dwayne Beckford have a few of the same offers. Do the teammates want to play together at the next level?
"We talk about that all the time," he said. "He and I feed off each other and if I do something good he does something good too. I think I need somebody like that and would love to."
The Garden State prospect has helped his team to a 5-0 record.
"We're young, but we're good and we've got the talent," he said. "This team has drive and motivation.
"I'm happy with my play as well. Offensively my vision is better. I've run for 265-yards and two touchdowns. I'm doing well on defense. I've got 37 tackles and two interceptions."
