Jersey LB favors WVU, Iowa

Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic linebacker Doug Rigg has not yet started his senior season, so he has had more time than most to devote to the recruiting process lately.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect from the Garden State may not be nearing a decision, but then again, it might not be too far off. Expect Rigg to take at least a couple of official visits before he makes any kind of final announcement, but he would prefer to get all of that done before it's too late in the year.

"We start our season on September 11," Rigg explained. "Right now we're in our last week of training camp and there are a couple of days left. We've got a scrimmage this Saturday against St. Joe's in Philadelphia.
"Our first scrimmage was against St. Joe's of Montvale. That one went well. We had a lot of big plays but at the same time we gave up a lot of big plays, too. We need to work on that. This Saturday should be a good test. St. Joe's in Philly is always a really good team. I want to see how we match up against them.
"As for recruiting, I've mostly been talking to West Virginia, Louisville and Iowa. I like Iowa and West Virginia a lot, but not so much Louisville. That's mostly because I haven't visited them yet."
As for official visits?
"I want to take one to West Virginia," he said. "I'm gonna try to do that on September 12. Then I'll try and take one to Iowa. I just don't know when that will be yet. I might take one to Rutgers, too, but I'm not sure about that either. After I take those visits early in the year I'll probably be ready to make my decision."
Rigg went on to clarify his statements, saying West Virginia and Iowa are his two favorites.
