Jersey LB claims a leader

Scotch Plains (N.J.) Scotch Plains-Fanwood linebacker Keith Baker has just finished up camps. The 6-foot-2, 207-pounder has been to five schools. Does he have any favorites?
"I went to Penn State, Virginia, UConn, Hofstra and Temple," he said. "They were good and I did well at them. All the coaches told me my stock rose a lot and now I'm just ready to pick up some more offers and get more choices."

Hofstra and Temple have offered, what are the other schools saying?
"UConn told me that I was one of their top linebacker prospects. They said they'll stay in touch," he stated. "Penn State already has five linebackers committed so there's really not a shot there. Meanwhile, Virginia told me they like what I did at camp and on film. We'll see what happens from there."
Currently one of the schools he visited is leading for his services.
"I am favoring Temple," he said. "I like the city of Philadelphia and basically they said I could probably be a four year starter there. I know they are only going to get one middle linebacker and I'm their first choice.
"Also, I like the coaching staff and what they are doing with the program. They are rebuilding it and hopefully by the time I leave there they'll be really good."
The Owls certainly have the advantage, but is Baker close to a decision?
"I want to commit before the season starts," he said. "It officially starts on August 14th and I'm just going to stay in touch with other coaches and see if I pick up more offers."
