Jersey LB adds two new offers

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep linebacker Will Thompson added two new offers to his list. The 6-foot-1, 230-pounder went on to talk about his latest big-time offer from the ACC.
"I picked up recent offers from Temple and Maryland. Now I'm up to I believe seven or eight scholarships," he said. "I was glad to get the offer from Maryland, but I want to go see all the campuses of the schools that have offered me. I'm hoping this summer I can get to most of those schools for unofficial visits."

Currently Thompson holds other offers from Connecticut, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Virginia and West Virginia. He also thinks Michigan and Cincinnati could be offering real soon.
The Garden State prospect isn't planning to make a decision anytime soon.
"I plan to wait a while to see what other schools offer me," he said. "I want to see if I have a great senior year and maybe I'll get another offer from someone I didn't expect down the line. I don't plan to make any early commitments. Instead, I think it'll be at least after the season and maybe even later than that."
Despite no plans for an early decision, Thompson does claim a leader.
"I'd say if anybody I'm kind of favoring Boston College," he said. "I really like them because they are showing the most interest in me. I'm looking at Virginia a lot too, but they haven't sent me nearly as much information."
With the May evaluation period going on, Thompson is seeing his share of interest from recruiters.
"I haven't gotten a ton of calls, but I have talked to coaches from Maryland and Cincinnati so far. My conversations with them were pretty good," he said. "I know my coach has also had coaches stop in from South Florida, Miami, Penn State, Michigan, Cincinnati and Boston College."
Last season the linebacker prospect registered 62 tackles, 11 for loss and nine sacks.
