Jersey junior TE starts to receive interest

New Jersey is always a haven for football prospects and 2008 has quite a few in the Garden State. One player to keep an eye on in the future is Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's Regional tight end Christian Klein. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder is starting to pick up interest from the Big East and ACC.
"I'm getting looks from Rutgers, Boston College, Duke and Connecticut," he said. "I can say I'm favoring Rutgers early. I really like it there.

"I went to two of their games this year against Louisville and Syracuse and it was awesome. The Louisville game was a great experience. I also got to talk to a couple of the coaches who told me about the program and stuff. I can say I really liked my time at Rutgers."
In general, Klein is looking for a few things out of his future destination.
"I really want good facilities, a good program, solid coaches and great academics," he said. "I think I'd like to study sports medicine wherever I go, although that won't be a huge factor in my decision. I also can say that location doesn't matter too much. I do like New Jersey a lot though."
This season, Klein earned all-county and all-league honors. He hopes to participate in the Elite College Combine in May.
