Jersey DT names top five

This year New Jersey is loaded at the defensive line position and one top players is Carl Howard of Matawan, N.J. Howard is considered one of the top defensive tackles in the country and college recruiters have taken notice.
"Right now I have more than a dozen offers and I’m really excited about it", said the 6-foot-4, 280-pound tackle. "To have this many options this early is great."

Howard recently ran a 4.8-second 40-yard dash during summer workouts and his speed and agility is one reason why he has offers from some big-time programs.
"I have a top five, but in no particular order. As of right now I like NC State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Syracuse and Michigan State. They've all offered me along with a bunch of others."
In addition to his top five, Howard has offers from Rutgers, Boston college, Wisconsin, Illinois, Virginia, Clemson and others. Carl plans on taking all five visits.
"I won't decide until late in the process," he said. "All the schools I like said that I am near the top of their list at my position, so I can take my time."
Last season Howard made 68 tackles with six sacks, eight tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and one caused fumble.
