Defensive end Anthony LaLota isn't the only prospect from Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School to have offers already. His teammate and fellow defensive lineman holds three scholarships.
"I have offers from West Virginia, Vanderbilt and Villanova," 6-foot-1, 290-pound defensive tackle Tyler Stockton said. "I'm also getting looks from North Carolina, Connecticut, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Michigan State, California, Washington, Penn State, Tennessee and Pittsburgh."
Stockton discussed his offers.
"Vanderbilt plays in the best football conference in the country, the SEC," he said. "They are a top I-A school academically and play good football. I like them. West Virginia is a BCS school, my father is from there and I like them. As for Villanova, they are local."
The Garden State prospect claims there are no favorites. Instead, he discussed what he is looking for in a college.
"Academics of course are important, I need that," he said. "I want good football, good people and nice coaches. I'm not totally sure what I want to study. My dad is in business and that could be a possibility."
Stockton plans to take some visits in the near future.
"I was supposed to go to UNC last weekend for a junior day," he said. "I'm going this weekend. I might go to Michigan State too on March 2nd."
Last year Stockton earned defensive player of the year in the conference and all-state honors after posting 68 tackles, 24 for loss and nine sacks. He helped the Hun School to a perfect 9-0 record.
"We won the league and we're expecting to do the same next year," he said. "We had good chemistry.
"I think I played well. My motor never stopped and I was able to stay low and get leverage."
