Willingboro (N.J.) defensive lineman Ell Ash has one official visit set and will now concentrate on scheduling the next four. The 6-foot-5, 275-pound lineman who has the frame to carry 300-+ pounds is being recruited for both offense and defense, but prefers the defensive side of the ball.
"Most schools are telling me that I could play either side of the ball, but I prefer defense."
North Carolina State will get his first visit (Dec. 12), but there are many others still in the mix for the remaining four.
"Tennessee is coming to my house this week and I'll probably set up a visit while their here."
Other schools that Ash is interested in visiting are Pittsburgh, Boston College, West Virginia, Virginia, Michigan and Miami.
"I know it's time to set my visits so I plan on sitting down with my family and try to come up with the best situation for me. Academics and a good football program are really important to me."
Ash is a qualifier with a 970 SAT score and a 3.8 GPA. He has offers from all of his favorites except Virginia, Michigan and Miami.
